The career landscape is rapidly evolving, with global work environments introducing unique challenges and opportunities for individuals. To advance understanding in this area, The International Journal of Human Resource Management (IJHRM) invites submissions to its Special Issue on Sustainable Global Careers.
This special issue aims to expand the sustainable careers framework to explicitly include global work contexts. We encourage submissions that explore critical questions such as:
- How can sustainable global careers be conceptualized and delineated from related frameworks like sustainable HRM and global careers?
- What are the antecedents and outcomes of sustainable global careers in relation to health, happiness, and productivity?
- How do individual agency, organizational HR approaches, and host-country contexts influence the sustainability of global careers?
Submissions should generate significant theoretical or practical insights into the transitions, drivers, and dynamics that shape sustainable global careers. Contributions may address personal, organizational, and societal perspectives, fostering a nuanced and context-sensitive understanding of this emerging topic.
