    Management Position (Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure-Track Position)

    The Department of Management and Information Systems in the College of Business at Mississippi State University invites applications for an assistant/associate tenure-track position in Management (OB/HR) to start August 2021. Responsibilities include scholarly research, teaching, and service. Research expectations are consistent with those of an AACSB-accredited, doctoral-degree granting College of Business.  A normal teaching load is six credit hours per semester. Candidates will be expected to teach Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and/or Principles of Management. Finally, candidates should have a commitment to appropriate levels of service within the department, college, and university.

    Appointment Date:  August 2021

    Minimum Requirements

    • Candidates should either have a PhD in Management or a closely related field or be  ABD with evidence that they will complete their program before the August 2021 start date.
    • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to do quality research leading to publications in top Management journals.
    • Candidates should demonstrate an ability for and commitment to quality teaching.
    • Candidates should have the ability to teach Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, and/or Principles of Management.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience teaching entrepreneurship will be considered favorably but is not a requirement.
    • Previous research in family business and/or OB entrepreneurship will be considered favorably but is not a requirement.
    • Previous experience in a tenure-track position will be considered favorably but is not a requirement.

The Center of Family Enterprise Research (www.business.msstate.edu/research/cofer/) as well as the Family Business Education Initiative (www.business.msstate.edu/faculty-research/research-centers/family-business-education-initiative) are housed in the Department, and the Entrepreneurship Center (https://ecenter.msstate.edu/) is housed in the College of Business. Together, they provide faculty with unique research, funding, and outreach opportunities.
