    Dear colleagues,

    The Human Resources Management Department of HEC Montréal invites applications for a tenure-track position of assistant professor. The opening begins on June 1, 2021.

    Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate expertise in the field of talent management, but other candidates may apply.

     

    HEC Montréal is recognized as a world leader in business education. HEC professors maintain high standards of excellence in both their teaching and their research. HEC Montréal offers undergraduate programs, as well as Graduate diplomas, MBA, EMBA, Master's degree and Ph.D. in Administration The main language of instruction is French. HEC Montréal holds three accreditations: AACSB International, EQUIS and AMBA.

    The Department of Human Resources Management is home to 15 professors involved in several research infrastructures including the Interuniversity Research Centre on Globalization and Work (CRIMT), the Centre interuniversitaire de recherche en analyse des organisations (Interuniversity Centre for Research in Analysis of Organizations, CIRANO), the Chair in Mobilization of Individuals, Groups and Organizations, the International observatory on the societal impacts of AI and digital technology (OBVIA), the Health Care Management Hub and the Sport Management Hub.

    The requirements of the position are as follows:

    • Candidates must either have a Ph.D., or be near completion of a Ph.D. in human resources management or a related discipline.
    • Teaching excellence is required, as is an interest in developing teaching tools.
    • The ability to teach in French within a maximum time frame of two years from the start date.
    • A strong aptitude for research and a marked interest in publication; recent conference papers and academic publications will attest to this ability.

    Applications must include a cover letter notably specifying the applicant's citizenship or immigration status, teaching objectives at HEC and research agenda. The file must also include a resume, one or two samples of research papers, student evaluations (if available) and at least one letter of reference. For applicants who have not yet completed their doctoral studies, the file must include a letter of reference from the candidate's thesis director clearly stating the scheduled date of submission of the dissertation.
