HR Division Virtual Session
COVID-19 Challenges to Career Vocational Development of New Career Faculty
The Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management is pleased to invites attendees for the first of a series of Virtual Sessions of the HR New Faculty Consortium! This first virtual session will focus on COVID challenges to career vocational development of new career faculty.
Date: February 20, 2021
Time: 9 - 11am, Eastern (US) Time
This professional development workshop is geared towards new career assistant professors (also welcome - those who are imminently graduating) who teach or conduct research in Human Resources Management. Featuring successful senior faculty members with proven records in research and teaching, this virtual PDW aims to provide guidance in navigating an academic career in an ever-changing and challenging environment.
This session will consist of a one-hour Panel discussion aimed at various aspects of COVID challenges including work-life balance, remote teaching, initiating networks from the virtual abyss, and career choices amid a pandemic.
Attendees will then have the opportunity to participate in a breakout session of their choosing to engage in a guided discussion with other faculty about teaching challenges during COVID, conducting research during COVID, and navigating geographically dispersed teaching.
