CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR SPECIAL ISSUES
    Journal of Organizational Behavior

The Journal of Organizational Behavior (JOB, https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10991379) is soliciting proposals from scholars interested in serving as Guest Editors for Special Issues. Guest Editors' responsibilities include proposing a special issue theme that addresses an important phenomenon relevant to organizational behavior. For accepted proposals, the Guest Editors will then recruit papers addressing the theme, recruit appropriately qualified reviewers (two per paper, including at least one JOB Editorial Board member), and manage the review and revision process. JOB Special Issues typically include between six and ten papers. JOB will assist with administration of the Special Issue, including arranging for submission via the Journal's ScholarOne Manuscripts website. Guest Editors are expected to maintain due diligence throughout the entire process, and to have some editorial experience.

    Proposals should include:

    • Guest Editors' contact information, including phone, e-mail, and postal addresses.
    • Qualifications of Guest Editors, including previous editorial experience.
    • A 500 to 1000-word overview of the proposed theme.
    • Plans for publicizing the special issue, and for recruiting an appropriately qualified reviewing team.
    • A timeline, beginning with an initial Call for Papers (assume the first call will appear on the JOB website in early- to mid-2021), and allowing for initial submission, revise and resubmit processing, and concluding with final papers being completed approximately three months prior to the publication date (typically 24 months after the call for proposals is released).
    • A draft Call for Papers (up to 1000 words). Please see the JOB website for examples of current calls.

Previous Special Issue topics include "Dynamic Research in Organizational Behavior" (39:9); "Teamwork in Extreme Environments" (39:5), and "Understanding Knowledge Hiding in Organizations" (40:7), among others. Forthcoming topics include: "Affect in Organizational Interpersonal Exchange Processes," "Presenteeism at Work," "Stemming the Tide: On the Retention and Careers of STEM Professionals," and "Work Passion Research: Taming Breadth and Promoting Depth."

After the submission deadline, all proposals will be evaluated by Editor-in-Chief Christian Resick in consultation with the Associate Editors. Please direct all questions to Christian at cresick@drexel.eduSpecial issue proposals should be submitted to Senior Associate Dr. Martina Wiesenberger at JOBedoffice@wiley.com by November 15, 2020.
