    SUMMARY:   
    The Assistant Professor of Business – Management, a tenure-track faculty member of the Davis School of Business, teaches Organizational Behavior and leadership courses primarily at the undergraduate and the graduate level in the School's MBA program. A potential secondary area of knowledge could be Operations Management and/or Strategy Management. Colorado Mesa University (CMU) is a state-funded institution that emphasizes quality teaching and research, having embraced the teacher-scholar model. The Davis School of Business is currently seeking AACSB accreditation and is in its third year of the initial self-evaluation process. 

    CMU is a modern campus nestled in the Grand Valley in beautiful western Colorado, home of Colorado's wine and fruit country (including the famous Palisade peaches), with close access to some of the best outdoor activities in the region including skiing, hiking, biking, river rafting and kayaking, and many other outdoor activities. CMU, Grand Junction, and the Grand Valley offer a great environment for quality of life and work/life balance. 

    The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; courses are delivered on-campus, online and hybrid. Scholarship in teaching and learning or within the discipline, involvement with advising, and service to the school, the university, and the profession are expected and supported. 

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility (teaching, scholarship, service, and advising) satisfactorily and in alignment with the Davis School of Business Scholarly Academic faculty qualifications. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities of the assista
    nt professor position.
     
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  

    REQUIRED:  

    A terminal degree (PhD or DBA) in Management, Business Administration, Strategic Management or Operations Management, or related field with significant coursework (at least 18 graduate credit hours) in Management required; ABD with a dissertation defense date and completion of all degree requirements on or before August 2022 will be considered.

    Experience teaching college-level Management-Organizational Behavior-Leadership courses.

    An active scholarship agenda for peer-reviewed publications. This could include traditional research, scholarship of teaching and learning, and applied research.

    Evidence of teaching interest in Management.

    Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching.

    Effective communication and organizational skills.

    DESIRED: 

    A terminal degree in the discipline, from a regional accredited institution (or equivalent) on a traditional-research focus program.

    Applicants with dual expertise in Management/Strategy or Management/Operations are encourage to apply.

    The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate competencies developing peer review research and intellectual contributions.

    Business industry experience is strongly preferred given our hands-on, application-oriented approach in the classroom.

    Evidence of excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and advising.
