The Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management is pleased to invite attendees for the 2nd of a series of Virtual Sessions of the HR New Faculty Consortium! This virtual session will focus on COVID-19 challenges to career vocational development of new career faculty.

    Date: May 22, 2021
    Time: 9 - 11am, Eastern (US) Time

This session will open with a one-hour Panel discussion of the tenure and promotion process, whether to go back on the market as an experienced assistant professor, departmental politics that might influence such decisions, how to handle taking a less desirable job during COVID-19 and, importantly, how to cope with all of these dynamics.

    Our panelists:
    Peter Bamberger, Tel Aviv University
    Steve Charlier, Georgia Southern University
    Ingrid Fulmer, Rutgers University
    Becca Kehoe, Cornell University
Anthony Nyberg, University of South Carolina
    Caitlin Porter, University of Memphis
    Amanda Shantz, Trinity College, Dublin

After the panel discussion, participants will be randomly assigned to breakout rooms for small group discussions and networking.

This professional development workshop is geared towards new career assistant professors (also welcome - those who are imminently graduating) who teach or conduct research in Human Resources Management.
