The COVID-19 pandemic has given a renewed sense of urgency to the necessity of focusing on sustainable development and fair trade.
The conference will gather business leaders, NGO leaders, researchers, and students from African countries, Wagner College, and the New York City community to discuss the most pressing issues impacting businesses in African countries.

The impetus of the conference is the discussions held at UNCTAD14 and UNCTAD15 (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) in Nairobi, Kenya in July 2016 and in Barbados in October 2021 which the conference organizers attended. http://unctad14.org/ and https://unctad15.org/
