    Call for 2020 Award Nominations
    Dear HR Division Members,

    This is a reminder to please take a moment and nominate a deserving member of the HR Division who has made exemplary contributions to our field in research, teaching, and/or service for one of the following awards!

    We want to call particular attention to a NEW Achievement Award this year - the Dave Ulrich Impact Award.

    In support of the HR Division's goal of increasing member involvement and its global reach, we strongly encourage nominations that reflect the rich diversity, backgrounds, and perspectives of our membership. Please note that self-nominations are strongly encouraged!

    Achievement Awards

    Herbert Heneman Jr. Award for Career Achievement

    The Herbert Heneman Jr. Award for Career Achievement is given to an individual who has distinguished himself/herself in the field of human resource management. This award recognizes an individual for their sustained (25+ years post-graduate school) excellence in research and impact on the field of HR.

    Thomas A. Mahoney Mentoring Award

    The Thomas A. Mahoney Mentoring Award is given to an individual who has distinguished himself/herself in the mentoring of PhD students. This award recognizes an individual for their sustained (25+ years post graduate-school) contributions to the mentorship of PhD students.

    Early Career Achievement Award

    The Early Career Achievement Award recognizes the promising track-record of research excellence from an individual during the early- to mid-career stage (within 7 years post graduate-school).

    Dave Ulrich Impact Award (Inaugural)

    The Dave Ulrich Impact Award recognizes an individual for excellence in the application of theory and research in practice and/or public policy. Special attention will be given to a scholar whose contributions have shaped the understanding of human resources globally in practice and/or public policy.

    Innovative Teaching Award

    The Innovative Teaching Award recognizes colleague(s) who have demonstrated innovation in the classroom and/or leadership in disseminating those innovations in the teaching of human resource management. Special attention will be given to methods that are developed as a result of interactions with the business community and those methods and designs that are widely disseminated.

    Manuscript Awards

    Scholarly Achievement Award

    The Scholarly Achievement Award is presented to the author(s) of the most significant article in human resource management published in 2019.

    SHRM Foundation Dissertation Grants Award

    SHRM Foundation Dissertation Grants are given to four promising researchers in the field of human resource management at the dissertation stage of their doctoral education. This annual competition is funded by the SHRM Foundation to support the dissertation research of doctoral candidates. Please note the deadline for this award is May 1, 2020.

    International HRM Scholarly Research Award

    The International HRM Scholarly Research Award is presented to the author(s) of the most significant article at the intersection of human resource management and international management published in 2019.

    Ralph Alexander Best Dissertation Award

    The Ralph Alexander Dissertation Award is given to the author of the best doctoral dissertation that addresses a phenomenon of importance to human resource management. This dissertation must have been completed no more than 24 months prior to the submission deadline (February 1, 2020).

    Emerging Scholar Awards in Employee Participation and Ownership

    This award is given for promising research by emerging scholars in the domain of broad-based employee participation and ownership. Research that has broad implications for practice and/or policy, and that addresses pressing economic and/or social problems is especially appropriate for this award.
