    Dear colleagues,

     

    The Department of Management in Western Kentucky University invites applications for a Management Instructor position.

     

    The Instructor rank position is a nine-month, non-tenure track position starting in August 2021. This is a one-year appointment. Continuation is dependent upon annual evaluation of performance and budgetary funding/need. 

     

    The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on administrative discretion and institutional needs.

     

    • Teach four (4) undergraduate courses per semester, consisting of business communication, principles of management, and other management-related courses based on departmental need. A typical semester would likely include a combination of any of these courses in either face-to-face, online and/or hybrid modalities.
    • Prior university-level teaching or corporate training experience as an instructor is highly desirable but not required. Applicants should mention any corporate training they have conducted as an instructor as a form of "teaching."
    • Assist with student activities and recruitment at various recruiting events.
    • Departmental, College, University, and Professional Service are required.


    Requirements:

    • Candidate must have a Master's of Business Administration (MBA), or master's degree closely-related to the field of Management and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
    • Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years' work experience in a business-related field.
    • Candidate must have a demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate students.

    Additional Information:

    The Management Department currently has 15 full-time faculty members. The department supports four undergraduate concentrations-business administration, human resource management, entrepreneurship, and international business-and an MBA program. (https://www.wku.edu/management/)

     

    The Gordon Ford College of Business is AACSB accredited in both business and accounting and currently offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in various business majors. The Management Department houses the largest number of majors within the College, and is one of the largest programs on campus.
