    PhD Program in Management & Leadership, University of Houston - deadline approaching!

    The Department of Management & Leadership at the C.T. Bauer College of Business, at the University of Houston, is accepting applications to its doctoral program.  Application deadline is January 10, 2022. We are looking for applicants with exceptional academic credentials, the drive, grit, humility, and resilience to excel at scholarly research, and particular research interests in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strategic leadership/CEO effects.

    Our program offers students a unique opportunity to work closely with recognized scholars in the field. The program's strengths include:

    • Required core courses in organizational behavior, human resources, strategic management, and organizational theory, which provides students with well-rounded expertise in macro and micro areas of management and leadership.
    • Core competences in the areas of leadership in organizations and leadership of organizations, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strategic human resources.
    • Doctoral faculty with extensive research records including Professors Derek Avery, Enrica Ruggs, Chet Miller, Leanne Atwater, Steve Werner, Jim Phillips, Bob Keller, Dusya Vera, Alan Witt, Robert Eisenberger, Juan Madera, JeAnna Abbott, Curtis Wesley, and Sana Chiu, among others.
    • Competitive level of funding through departmental research assistantships. Students are also eligible for fellowships and other awards offered by the University of Houston, as well as support for travel to present at national professional conferences. Teaching stipends are also available when the doctoral candidates start to teach at UH.
    • Close collaborative relationships with other colleges and departments at UH, and in particular with Psychology, Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Public Affairs. Opportunities to take doctoral classes at Rice University are also available.
    • Access to the cosmopolitan environment of Houston, the 4th largest city in the US, the energy capital of the world, the space city, home to the largest medical center in the world, and one of the most diverse cities in the US.
