Dear Colleagues,
Preventing workplace loneliness has become a common challenge in this social isolation period. What insights can we derive from leadership theories to combat workplace loneliness? We have explored this question a while ago in a film festival studio event featuring four 8-minute film-projects produced by senior-level Human Resources Management students in my Leading with Emotional Intelligence class. Each film-project has integrated a different leadership theory with research on emotional intelligence and loneliness to address a theoretical/managerial question assigned to them.
Professor Mandy O'Neill from George Mason University and Mr. Francois Battiste, the acclaimed movie and theater actor, joined us as "commentators" in this event to analyze these film-projects. A forum following these commentaries helped generating valuable insights about leadership theories, loneliness, and emotional intelligence, which you might find useful for both research and teaching.
