    The Management Department at the Kogod School of Business, American University, invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track appointment in Management with a specialization in organizational behavior or human resource management at the assistant professor rank (or advanced assistant professor), to begin Fall semester 2023. We welcome applications from current Ph.D. aspirants (doctorate by August 2023) as well as experienced junior-level candidates. Ideal candidates will have:

    • earned doctorate in Business Management or a closely related field with an emphasis in organizational behavior or human resource management from a nationally-accredited institution;
    • a strong research program in meso- or micro- level management (special consideration for research and/or teaching interest in focus areas such as entrepreneurship, sustainability, diversity, or analytics);
    • demonstrated teaching excellence in Management and related courses at all levels;
    • collegiality, good citizenship, and commitment to serve the school. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of Kogod's academic reputation.

    Review of applications will begin in August, with screening interviews in early September and continuing until the position is filled. An application must include a cover letter, a current and complete curriculum vitae, copies of teaching evaluations, and contact information for three references.     Qualifications include:

    • Ph.D., or anticipated Ph.D. by August 2023, in Management disciplines of organizational behavior, human resource management, or a closely related field
    • Strong commitment to high-quality research in meso or micro Management disciplines
    • Primary research and teaching interest in organizational behavior or human capital
    • Secondary interest in topics such as entrepreneurship, sustainability, analytics, or diversity, equity, and inclusion are a plus
    • Potential for effective teaching at all levels
    • Demonstrated collegiality, good citizenship, and professional background

    Responsibilities include:

    • High quality undergraduate and graduate teaching; load of 9 credits/year over the six year tenure clock
    • Research targeted at top-tier and high quality journals
    • Participation in department, school, university, and professional activities
