Are you a scholar engaged with topics of sustainability in business / corporate social responsibility or similar issues? Then our Call for Papers for a Special Issue of the International Journal of Management Reviews (ABDC A, CABS 3, IF 8.96) is definitely of interest for you! Submission deadline is January 2025 with the option to submit extended abstract early in August 2024. Here is what our special issue is about:

We urge the research community to departure from siloed thinking towards a holistic approach in sustainability management. Our call highlights the pressing need for interdisciplinary collaboration across business, management, and organizational studies to tackle grand societal challenges effectively. Despite abundant calls for research that bridges business and societal issues, there's a notable gap in integrating theories and methodologies across various management domains and beyond-into psychology, natural sciences, and social sciences, among others. This fragmentation hinders our understanding and advancement in sustainability in business, underscored by limited cross-disciplinary referencing and conceptual overlaps that cause confusion.

We propose literature reviews as a powerful tool to break down these barriers, encouraging submissions that span a wide range of sustainability topics and methodologies. The Special Issue aims to foster boundary-spanning frameworks, apply diverse theoretical lenses, and encourage transdisciplinary research involving academic and non-academic stakeholders. This initiative seeks to significantly impact sustainability management research by enhancing understanding, promoting interdisciplinary dialogue, and paving the way for innovative solutions to sustainability challenges.
