Become an AOM Student Community Ambassador
The AOM Student Community is recruiting a new cohort of Student Ambassadors to help shape programming, build connections, and create meaningful opportunities for doctoral students around the world throughout the year.
Faculty members: We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with doctoral students in your department or network who you believe would be interested in becoming involved as ambassadors.
We are currently seeking volunteers to join the following committees:
In-Person Programming
Help plan and deliver the Student Community's in-person events at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting.
Virtual Programming
Develop webinars, panel discussions, workshops, and other virtual events throughout the year in collaboration with AOM Divisions, Interest Groups, journals, CARMA, and other partners.
Research Programming
Create opportunities for students to share their research, receive feedback, and build scholarly connections through research-focused events and initiatives.
Internal Communications & Community Engagement
Foster an active and supportive student community by facilitating discussion boards, maintaining student resources, and encouraging year-round peer-to-peer engagement among student members.
Marketing & Promotion
Promote Student Community initiatives through graphics, social media, AOM Connect, and other communication channels to increase awareness and participation.
Partnerships & DIG Engagement
Build relationships with AOM Divisions and Interest Groups, journals, CARMA, and other academic partners to develop collaborative programming and connect students with opportunities across the Academy.
CAP & Global Engagement
Strengthen the Student Community's international presence by supporting regional engagement, improving accessibility, and ensuring students from around the world are represented and connected.
Who Should Apply?
We are looking for doctoral students who:
- Are entering at least the second year of their doctoral program.
- Are enthusiastic about contributing to the AOM Student Community.
- Enjoy collaborating with others and taking initiative.
- Can commit an average of 1–2 hours per week throughout the academic year.
While the average commitment is modest, there will be periods, particularly in the lead-up to the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and major programming, when additional time may be required. Other weeks may require very little time.
This is an active, year-round volunteer role. We're looking for ambassadors who are interested in contributing to the Student Community and helping create valuable experiences and resources for fellow doctoral students. Student Ambassadors work closely with the Student Community leadership team and have opportunities to take on additional leadership responsibilities over time.
Why Become an Ambassador?
As a Student Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate with doctoral students from around the world.
- Develop leadership, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Help design programs and resources that directly support fellow students.
- Build relationships across the Academy of Management.
- Gain behind-the-scenes experience in planning Student Community initiatives and collaborating with AOM leaders.
- Make a lasting impact on the Student Community.
If you're excited about helping shape the future of the AOM Student Community, we'd love to hear from you.
Complete the Expression of Interest form by Aug 18th 2026 to apply.
