Friends – The Academy of Management Annals and WU, Vienna University of Economics and Business are pleased to announce we are hosting an idea-development workshop on June 25, 2026 in Vienna, Austria! The event will be held on the campus of WU beginning at 9 am local time and will conclude at 5 pm.
We are currently accepting submissions and really look forward to seeing you there and want to encourage submissions of ideas for us to discuss! The full call for submissions is linked below, and the deadline for submissions is May 1, 2026. Submissions should take the form of an up to 350-word abstract.

Annals Vienna Idea Development Workshop

The workshop has two parts. Participants can apply to participate in the first part (morning session) only or to participate in the first and second parts (morning and afternoon sessions).
In the first part, we will provide information about publishing in Annals and the characteristics of excellent review proposals and manuscripts. The Annals editorial team will discuss what makes a successful paper and why they may be rejected, and how to address the core challenges often seen in developing review proposals.
In the second part, we will offer roundtable discussions of participants' ideas for proposals to be submitted to Annals. We will match participants with a facilitator such as an Associate Editor or co-Editor in Chief who will discuss and provide feedback on your idea in a roundtable format with other workshop participants. Capacity in this part of the workshop is limited so please do submit an abstract before the May 1 deadline!
