    Position Announcement

    Assistant Professor of Management and Industrial Relations

    Shidler College of Business, University of Hawai'i at Mānoa

    Honolulu, Hawai'i

     

    (1) Tenure Track Position in Management and Industrial Relations, AY 2023-2024

     

    Assistant Professor, Department of Management and Industrial Relations, Shidler College of Business, University of Hawai'i, one position, tenure track, full-time anticipated beginning Fall 2023.

     

    Duties:

    1. Teach at the executive, graduate (Masters and PhD programs) and undergraduate levels and perform research in Human Resource Management (HRM) and/or Organizational
    2. Play a leadership role in the development of Management department curriculum and research programs.
    3. Teach a variety of courses from these examples: Human Resource Management, Staffing, Compensation, Training, Leadership and Organizational Change, E-HRM.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    1. PhD from a recognized university with a specialization in Human Resource Management or a related field.
    2. Applicant near completion of PhD will be
    3. Potential to develop a high quality and impactful research program coupled with evidence of potential to teach effectively at the university level.

     

    Desirable Qualifications:

    1. Published articles or forthcoming papers in peer reviewed journals in Human Resource Management or related fields with an emphasis on international issues.
    2. Knowledge of international issues in Human Resource Management and/ or E-
    3. Teaching interests in Human Resource Management and specialized HRM
    4. Evidence of actual teaching ability to teach practical as well as theoretical knowledge at the university level.

    Application Review and Next Steps:

    Applications will be accepted until 5 pm HST on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Applicants selected for interviews will be notified via email. Interviews with the Search Committee will take place via videoconferencing during the month of November, 2022. Campus visit fly-outs will occur during December and early January, 2023.

     

    The position is full-time, general funds and tenure-track beginning August 1, 2023, pending availability of funds and position clearance. Review of applications will begin on October 30, 2022 and will continue until the position is filled.
