Dear HR Community,
The HR Division of the Academy of Management is pleased to announce that we are now accepting proposals to host our 6th Human Resources International Conference (HRIC) in 2026. The HRIC, held outside of North America, brings a high-quality academic conference to countries closer to where many of our Division's international members reside. They have been highly successful events and the HR Division officers are eager to continue to support them.
Prior conferences have been hosted by DCU in Dublin, Ireland (2019), UNSW Australia Business School (2016), and Beijing China, hosted by Renmin University of China (2014). Prior conferences had approximately 200 attendees. In June 2023, the 4th HRIC will be hosted by North-West University (in collaboration with Tilburg University) in Potchefstroom, North West Province, South Africa, while in January 2024, the 5th HRIC will be hosted by Otago Business School in Dunedin, Aotearoa New Zealand.
If you are interested in hosting the 6th HRIC, please refer to the attached HRIC proposal form. Please submit your completed proposal to the chair of the HR Division Ambassador Committee, Brian Harney, brian.harney@dcu.ie by 31st of May, 2023. Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the elected members of the HR Division Executive Committee. An initial evaluation will shortlist the top proposals. Those associated with a shortlisted proposal will be asked to present to the EC during a virtual meeting, prior to final proposal selection.
Key Dates & Deadlines:
May 31st, 2023 Proposal submission deadline
July 14th, 2023 Shortlisted proposers notified
September, 2023 Shortlisted proposers present virtually to the Executive Committee.
Presenters informed of the HR Division's decision no later than 3 weeks following virtual presentations.
November, 2023 Full plan submitted to the HR Division
