Dear Colleagues,
We are conducting a comprehensive Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis on Merit Pay and its relationship with employee work motivation, effort, and performance.
To ensure the highest level of rigor, address potential publication bias (the file drawer problem), and capture a complete evidence base, we are actively seeking unpublished studies, working papers, dissertations, theses, and technical/internal reports related to this topic.
We are specifically seeking quantitative studies that meet the following criteria:
The study must examine the effect of Merit Pay (i.e., incremental increases in base salary are provided, and the provision or the size of the increase depends on a rating by the employer of the employee's past performance) on one or more of the following outcomes:
- Work motivation (e.g., behavioral intention, intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation)
- Work effort
- Employee performance/productivity (e.g., self- or other-ratings, objective indicators, task performance, contextual performance, individual level, group level)
If you have completed or are aware of any such unpublished work, please consider submitting it for inclusion in our analysis.
The full protocol for our review is available for consultation via the following link: https://doi.org/10.1002/cl2.70001
How to Submit: Please email the lead researcher, Cédric Velghe, with the following:
- The title and abstract of the study.
- A PDF copy of the unpublished work (if available).
