    Dear HR Division colleagues,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am pleased to share a call for papers for a Special Issue of Human Resource Management Journal titled "New Vistas for Human Resource Management Research in the Global South," guest edited by Ajnesh Prasad, Martyna Śliwa, Amon Barros, and Ghazal Zulfiqar, with Jeoung Yul Lee serving as the HRMJ editor.

The Special Issue speaks to conversations in HRM about the contextual embeddedness of employment relations, the limits of universalizing theories and measures, and the need to develop more situated understandings of how people are managed across diverse settings. We are particularly interested in work that examines HRM in Global South contexts not as empirical variation, but as a basis for new conceptual, theoretical, and methodological development.

The submission deadline is 31 December 2026. We welcome conceptual, empirical, and methodological submissions addressing themes such as informality, inequality, colonial legacies, local and Indigenous knowledge, worker voice, diversity and inclusion, precarious work, and the assumptions embedded in established HRM concepts and practices.

    Best wishes,

    Amon
