    Hi everyone,

    The Department of Management (MGT) of the Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB), at University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) invites applicants for one open rank tenure track position in Management with a focus in Human Resource Management or Organizational Behavior to begin in August 2025.

    The selected candidate will have teaching responsibilities including but not limited to SHRM-CP Preparation, Legal Issues in HRM, Staffing, Diversity and Inclusion, Compensation and Benefits, Human Resource Management, HR Analytics, and Strategic Human Resource Management. In addition, the selected candidate maybe expected to engage with the SHRM Student Organization, regional chapters/associations, and Houston's HR community.

    Given the needs of MDCOB students, successful candidates must be willing to teach a variety of days, times, and modalities (i.e., face-to-face, online, hybrid, and hyflex formats). They will also be ready to teach both undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty are expected to teach courses offered at the primary campus located in downtown Houston, as well as off-campus locations in suburban, northwest Houston.

    The MDCOB – home of one of the largest MBA programs in Texas – is accredited by AACSB and enrolls 2,500+ undergraduate and over 500 graduate students. The MGT Department houses 22 faculty members, 14 of whom are tenured/tenure track. Currently, the department offers majors in Management and Human Resource Management and MBA concentrations in Human Resource Management and Leadership. It is also developing other majors and programs to meet student need. New faculty will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the department.

    Qualifications

    Candidates for the position should have a terminal degree in Management or a related field. ABDs are strongly considered and should have their degree completed by August 2026.
