Apology for cross-posting
We are delighted to invite you to our PDW "Working Apart, Succeeding Together: Navigating Research Collaboration Across Time Zones," taking place on 31 July at 9am at Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room 108A.
Global research collaborations have become a defining feature of academic careers. While such collaborations are intellectually enriching, they also bring very concrete challenges, such as negotiating time-zone differences, coordination, maintaining momentum despite communication delays, and managing cultural differences that shape communication, deadlines, and decision-making.
This highly interactive PDW will bring together experienced international research teams to share practical strategies, personal insights, and lessons learned from managing cross-time-zone collaborations.
The session will include expert reflections, structured roundtable discussions, and opportunities to build meaningful international connections.
Participants will gain actionable guidance on initiating and sustaining global research projects, maintaining trust and momentum across distance, and integrating international collaboration into a sustainable academic trajectory.
This workshop is especially valuable for scholars seeking practical tools for global teamwork, early-career academics building international networks, and anyone researching or engaging in cross-cultural or cross-border collaboration.
We hope you will join us for a rich and engaging session.
Warm regards,
PDW Co-Chairs
Yehuda Baruch, Jelena Petrovic, Huong Nguyen, and Sebastien Point
