The Management Department in the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is seeking interested applicants for a tenure-track position expected to begin in Fall 2025. Assistant and Associate Professor levels will be considered, with slight preference for advanced Assistant Professors. Applicants for consideration at the rank of Associate Professor will be limited to those with an exceptional record of research, teaching, and service, and years of relevant experience consistent with University policy. We seek applicants whose research interests are broadly related to human capital resources (such as how organizations compete through people), with training in human resources, organizational behavior, strategic management, or closely related areas, being particularly relevant. Priority will be given to candidates who seek to be engaged with the Department's human resource programs, centers, and courses. All faculty searches are subject to the availability of funding.
The position will require a doctoral degree by the start date of employment in management or a related field, the ability to conduct high-quality research that can fit within the highly collaborative research community of human resources, organizational behavior, and strategic management scholars, and a demonstrated record or the potential to publish consistently in top-tier scholarly journals commensurate with faculty rank. Candidates from underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
We plan to conduct meetings with interested applicants at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Chicago. Interested applicants are invited to submit a Curriculum Vitae (CV) and Cover Letter to Sandy Bringley (SANDRA.BRINGLEY@moore.sc.edu) by July 31st, 2024. Inquiries regarding the expected position should be shared with the Search Committee Chair, Robert Ployhart (ployhart@moore.sc.edu). Note: The process of emailing the CV and Cover Letter is for the AOM conference only; applications must be submitted through the formal process to be considered.
