Tenure-Track Position in HRM/OB, Loyola University Maryland (Fall 2027)

    Posted 5 hours ago

    Dear Colleagues,

The Management and Organizations Department in the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola University Maryland is hiring a tenure-track faculty member in human resource management and organizational behavior, beginning Fall 2027.

We are building out our HRM curriculum, and the person we hire will help develop it. That means teaching HRM and OB at the undergraduate and MBA levels and developing new courses in Strategic HRM and People Analytics, Human Capital Consulting, and related areas. There is room here to shape a program rather than inherit one, and over time, to direct it.

This is an open-rank search at the Assistant or early Associate Professor level, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience. We welcome applications from candidates completing their doctoral studies, as well as from senior assistant and junior associate professors with established records in HR, OB, or industrial-organizational psychology. Candidates with prior academic experience are preferred. Tenure must be earned at Loyola. A candidate appointed at the associate rank joins on a tenure-track basis rather than with tenure conferred. The length of the probationary period may be negotiated at the time of appointment.

The teaching load is 3/3, with a course release each of the first two years. Loyola is a Jesuit university, and the commitment to educating the whole person shows up in how we treat students and how we treat each other. Baltimore puts our faculty and students within reach of the region's employers, hospital systems, and nonprofits, which matters for a department doing work on people and organizations. Sellinger is AACSB-accredited, and Management is the largest specialization in our Professional MBA program.

We are a department that takes colleagues seriously as people. If you want a place to spend a career rather than a stop along the way, I think you would find one here.

Review of applications is ongoing until the position is filled. We anticipate campus interviews in the middle of September 2026 and a decision by the middle of October, with a start date of August 2027.

Please pass this along to doctoral students, recent graduates, or colleagues who might be a good fit. If you would like to talk about the position, the department, or Loyola, I am glad to hear from you directly.

    Best,

    John W. Michel
