    About Personnel Psychology

Since its founding in 1948, Personnel Psychology has been devoted to publishing rigorous applied science. As the journal enters its next chapter, it reemphasizes a commitment to placing practical and societal relevance at the forefront. While manuscripts will continue to be evaluated based on practical, theoretical, and empirical contributions, these elements are considered interdependent strands of a single rope, strongest when woven together to strengthen knowledge and action.

The editorial team starting from 2026 is led by Editor Tammy Allen and includes Associate Editors Derek R. Avery, Michael Braun, Elizabeth (Beth) Campbell, Emily Campion, Christopher Nye, Winny Shen, Kristen Shockley, Scott Tonidandel, and Chia-Huei Wu.

Personnel Psychology is rated as 4* in the UK CABS AJG list and A* in the Australian Business Deans' Council list of journals.

    About the Paper Development Workshop

We invite early-career researchers to join the PDW. Although we welcome all scholars, we especially encourage early-career researchers to join us while they develop their work. Participants will discuss their research projects and receive developmental feedback from the editorial team.

We welcome submissions that examine questions of practical and societal relevance across the full range of topics in organizational behavior, human resource management, and industrial-organizational psychology with the goal of making practical, theoretical, and empirical contributions. Articles may employ diverse research methods, including quantitative and qualitative research, theory development, meta-analytic reviews, and narrative literature reviews.
