    POSITION: PROFESSOR IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT (WITH A SPECIALIZATION IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE)

    The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is seeking qualified candidates to renew its faculty complement and support high-quality development across all its areas of activity. 

    UQAM is a French-language public university with international influence. Its research centers conduct cutting-edge work focused on social issues, contributing to the institution's reputation. The School of Management (ESG UQAM), UQAM's largest faculty, is a major academic hub and a leading research actor in Montreal. It brings together around 300 professors and more than 50 research units.     JOB DESCRIPTION

    Human resource management (HRM) encompasses several areas of expertise and requires strong versatility across its various specialties. The Department wishes to hire a professor in HRM who has a comprehensive vision of the discipline, with a perspective oriented toward artificial intelligence and its impact on the HR function. This person will be able to assume the following responsibilities:

    ·         Teach at all three academic levels (undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral) in human resource management within current and future programs

    ·         Supervise students at all three levels (internships, applied projects, master's thesis, and doctoral dissertations)

    ·         Conduct research in human resource management focused on the field of artificial intelligence

    ·         Engage in service to the community (activities that contribute to the University's functioning and outreach) 

    REQUIREMENTS 

    ·         Ph.D. in Administration (human resource management specialization) or Industrial Relations, or equivalent*

    ·         At least three years of relevant professional experience, including doctoral research activities

    ·         Ability to teach human resource management at all academic levels 

    ·         Experience and quality of research achievements in the field of human resource management with a focus on artificial intelligence

    ·         Ability to disseminate research results as demonstrated by publications, scholarly communications, and knowledge-transfer activities 

    ·         Demonstrated autonomy and respect for professional ethics 

    ·         Proficiency in French, both spoken and written** 

    * Exceptionally, the application of a candidate who has not yet completed the required degree may be considered. However, the degree must be obtained before tenure is granted, in accordance with the provisions of the UQAM-SPUQ collective agreement.

    ** A functional command of the French language (ability to teach courses in French) is required prior to taking up the position. An adequate command of French (C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) will be an essential condition for obtaining tenure, in accordance with the provisions of the UQAM-SPUQ collective agreement. French courses may be offered.

    EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

    ANNUAL SALARY as of April 1, 2025: from $74,351 to $178,818 (according to the UQAM-SPUQ collective agreement)
