    Summary

The US healthcare system suffers from serious documented health care inequities. The Trinity University Healthcare Administration (HCAD) program is committed to creating "2040 Leaders" who are prepared to drive the transformative creativity and difficult conversations required to resolve these inequities. As such, the program is committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion in all its courses, and we strongly support the University's statement on DEI: Trinity University is committed to implementing practices in pursuit of an inclusive campus for all students, faculty, and staff to feel welcomed, and valued. Moreover, HCAD has identified two additional strategic priorities for its students: excellence in leadership practice (through a three-course sequence focused on leadership, coaching, and public speaking) and innovation (through coursework and internal/external case competitions focused on innovation and intra/entrepreneurship).

The individual selected is also expected to engage in scholarly activity in an area in or related to health care management. While Trinity University provides strong institutional support for grant funding, there are no expectations placed on faculty to secure funding.

Faculty members are also expected to actively participate in departmental, university and community activities. Every tenured and tenure-track faculty member is expected to contribute to the academic mission of the University. There are many opportunities for Trinity faculty to be engaged in experiential learning and interdisciplinary teaching and research.

Trinity University is one of the nation's top liberal arts universities offering master's degrees in select professional fields. The M.S. program of the Department of Health Care Administration has been continuously accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) since 1968. We have two delivery options for our degree: a full-time on-campus program and a part-time executive program designed for individuals working full-time in health care.
