We invite you to submit to our upcoming Special Issue in the Journal of Organizational Behavior, which aims to rethink how organizational change is conceptualized and studied in today's fast‑evolving global environment. Although change is pervasive, much of our scholarship still relies on assumptions and proxies that may not fully reflect how change unfolds or how people experience it in contemporary organizations.

This Special Issue encourages work that challenges traditional models, revisits foundational assumptions, and advances new theoretical and methodological approaches. We particularly welcome papers that clarify what we actually study when we study "change," and that offer deeper insight into how change is enacted, perceived, and lived at work.

Contributions may be conceptual, empirical, longitudinal, processual, or computational, so long as they advance conceptual clarity and bring innovation to the study of organizational change.

Submissions open on 15 January 2027, with a deadline of 15 February 2027. All manuscripts will undergo blind review. We hope you will consider contributing to this effort to enrich and refocus organizational change research.
