The new Editorial of German Journal of Human Resource Management (GHRM) outlines how GHRM responds to current trends in academic publishing-an increasing flood of publications and the flourishing of established ideas at the expense of novel, fragile concepts.

Editors-in-Chief Julia Brandl and Tanja Rabl explain that GHRM's future in HRM scholarship is developing its potential as a "permeable enclave" (March, 2005). GHRM aligns the dual mission of local grounding and global reach: It emphasizes local grounding by inviting submissions that explore specific contexts (e.g., German labor law, co-determination, dual vocational training) and use local phenomena to challenge established assumptions. At the same time, it stresses global reach by practicing international research standards and by enriching global HRM debates with novel insights.
