Excited to share our Call for Papers for a Special Issue of Human Resource Management:
"Learning That Works and Workers That Learn: Reimagining Work-Related Learning for the Future of HRM"
This SI seeks to bridge learning and HRM research by advancing work-related learning as a multilevel, multistakeholder, and multimodal phenomenon spanning formal, informal, self-directed, and AI-mediated learning.
We welcome empirical, theoretical, and review papers addressing topics such as:
• AI-powered learning and human–AI collaboration
• Self-directed and informal learning
• Learning transfer and HR systems
• Gig work, hybrid work, and vulnerable worker groups
• Multilevel learning systems and capability development
• Cognitive and affective foundations of learning
Submission window: January 1–31, 2027
We hope this SI will help stimulate fresh conversations on how workers learn-and how HRM systems can better support learning in rapidly changing work contexts.
Please feel free to share with interested colleagues and doctoral students.
