    Hello all,
Does anyone have a favorite (evidence-based, HR-informed) resource for designing faculty evaluation systems? I'm assuming it would include things like:
    1. Aligning faculty performance management with university/college strategic plan.
    2. Measuring performance dimensions (teaching, research, service)
    3. Measuring performance at various levels (individual, department, college, university)
    4. Linking (or not) compensation to performance measurement.
    5. Professional/career development for faculty

    Thanks for any pointers,
    Tom

    Tom,
As Department Chair, I am using a "textbook" approach by implementing practices pretty much as described in this book: Performance Management for Dummies. I have delivered workshops on this precise topic for administrators and faculty at universities in the US, France, and South Africa and the systems seem to be working quite well.

    I hope this helps!
    All the best,

    --Herman.
