Please excuse the cross posting.
I am working with Emerald Publishing as editor for their upcoming "Exploring Effective Leadership Practices Through Popular Culture" book series.
We are seeking proposals for books in this series. If you have an idea and would like to write a book on a piece of popular culture that illustrates leadership, please email me at michael.urick@stvincent.edu.
If your idea fits the series, we will ask you to submit a book proposal.
The purpose of this book series is to leverage popular culture (such as movies, television shows, music, books, video games, comics, and blogs etc.) in leadership development initiatives. The target readers are practitioners or MBA students who may be unfamiliar with academically-supported leadership theories. The goal is to provide them with theories, illustrate the theories using popular culture to facilitate understanding, and then provide suggestions on how the theories might play out in readers' own work experiences.
Thus, leadership theories, which may be unfamiliar to readers, should be the starting point for exploring leadership concepts. In order to make these theories more accessible, authors will use popular culture to illustrate them. The hope of doing so is that readers can put these theories into practice to influence their own management and leadership activities.
The length of each book will be around 45,000 words.
The first two books in the series are scheduled to be published in Spring and Fall 2021. We are hoping to publish two books in the series per year.
Deadlines for manuscript submission can be flexible based on authors' workloads.
I look forward to hearing from you.
